Where to stay in Madeira
Hotel Quinta da Serra
Located in the Southeast of Madeira, the Hotel Quinta da Serra is a perfect example of how to combine eco luxury with traditional and stylish touches. The small reception area is warm and welcoming, and the building also houses a bar, a games room and a library where you can relax with a drink or read a book. If you just can’t stand still go for a swim in one of our two pools or take advantage of the hotel’s free transfers to Funchal.
Estalagem da Ponta do Sol
Perched on top perched on top of a cliff overlooking the harbour in the Southeast of Madeira, Estalagem da Ponta do Sol is built on different floors terraced by thick stone walks. A lift and covered bridges lead to different levels of the hotel, which intersect and join up at several points.
The outdoor eternity pool has beautiful views of the coast and the hotel also boasts a gym, panoramic jacuzzi, sauna, gym and heated indoor pool. The hotel also offers a free daily courtesy bus to Funchal.
Quintinha São João
Also referred to as an oasis of calm in Madeira’s busy capital city Funchal. A charming, family run hotel providing a relaxing escape from the bustle of downtown Funchal, Quintinha sits within a lush, subtropical garden in the city’s residential area – a fifteen-minute walk brings you down into the heart of the city or you might prefer to take advantage of the hotel’s courtesy bus, (particularly for the uphill walk home, which can be tiring at the end of a busy day).
Aqua Natura is a stunning hotel between imposing cliffs facing natural lava rock swimming pools in Northwest Madeira. Without a doubt one of the best features of the Aqua Natura hotel is its amazing setting and the views of the wild and rocky coast along the Atlantic ocean. The spacious and comfortable rooms all have a balcony and overlook the magnificent coast.
The excellent restaurant at the Aqua Natura serves delicious food and you can opt to sit outside on the balcony whilst watching the sun go down.
