Last week, we were lucky enough to have Ryanna, a year 10 pupil at Keswick School, join us to learn a bit about what it’s like working in the travel industry. She worked really hard and got stuck into everything we gave her.
Here’s what she had to say…
“I arrived on Monday the 18th June 2018 for my work experience placement and was greeted by the team at Archipelago Choice before being given an introduction to the business. Admittedly I didn’t know much about Archipelago Choice or their destinations before I came and now that I have been here that has completely changed. I now know what the business is about, what each member of the team does and how they organise their specialised island holidays in Cape Verde, Madeira, Sao Tome and the Azores.
Throughout the week of my work experience I spent time with each member of staff and they spoke to me about what they do to contribute to the business. They also helped me understand the process they go through to make the holidays specialised for each individual and the booking process. Each member of staff welcomed me to the team and I don’t have a bad word to say about them. They all go out their way to make sure your holiday is what you wanted and as worry free as it can be for you.
The Archipelago team must be doing something right if they have won the British Travel Awards two years in a row (2016, 2017). They provide their customers with outstanding customer service and their websites provide potential customers with a whole heap of information. Archipelago Choice have a wide range of activities you can do in each location which vary from whale watching and canyoning in the Azores to golf and diving in Madeira to horse riding and turtle watching in Cape Verde.
From my week here as part of the team I will be taking away a lot of new information which includes how to share out the roles of the business equally and what there is to see and do in the Azores, Sao Tome and Principe, Madeira and Cape Verde.
I will definitely look into organising an adventure holiday in the future with Archipelago Choice.”
