This Cape Verde Walking Holiday is aimed at those who enjoy the challenge of a high summit. Your walks are spread across four of Cape Verde’s Islands, which means a greater variety of volcanic scenery. The highest summits is Fogo Volcano, at 2829m. As well as enjoying lots of exceptional walks, we will make sure you get to enjoy some of the site seeing highlights of the four island you visit.
Santiago
Your walking holiday starts on Santiago, one of the more densely populated of Cape Verde’s islands. As such, its one of the most culturally authentic. Accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, your first challenge is an ascent of Pico d’Antonia. It’s not the highest (1392m) but may feel the hardest, due to its steepness. You could call it a baptism of fire!
Fogo
From Santiago, you take an inter-island flight to Fogo. Make sure you’re seated on the right-hand side of the plane, as you’ll fly right past Pico do Fogo. It’s a giant, even from the air, and looms over the massive crater of Cha das Caldeiras. You’ll first do a walk in the crater itself, before attempting an ascent of the impressive active volcano, which last erupted in 2014. An early start is the order of the day, and your reward will be the view into the crater of the volcano, and across the Cape Verde archipelago. The descent is a fantastic scree run down the ashy flanks.
Sao Vicente
Similarly to Santiago, Sao Vicente is considered culturally rich, due to its population density. Live bands play in the bars and restaurants at night. A six-hour walk from leads you from Mindelo to the top of Monte Verde (744m), which looms above this harbour town, as if keeping guard. On a clear day, you views of neighbouring islands.
Santo Antao
Last, but certainly not least, is Santo Antão, a true walker’s paradise. Your first walk starts at Cova crater, an its a fun jeep drive up a cobbled road to get there. From the rim, you descend to the floor of the crater and ascent the other side. Finally, you follow the zig zagging path into the spectacularly beautiful Paul Valley. Your second day takes you into another valley, Cha das Pedras. For your third day, you follow the rugged Pacific coastal route from Cruzinha to Ponta do Sol.
Your final walk on this amazing walking holiday is the not often climbed Tope de Coroa (1979m), in the western part of Santo Antao. Surrounded by glowing hills often covered in little flowers, you might feel like you’re hiking in the Alps.

Day 1
Depart the UK and fly via Lisbon to Praia on the island of Santiago in Cape Verde. On arrival, you will be met by your driver and a representative and taken to your hotel where you will for 2 nights.

Day 2
As you’ll have arrived in the early hours, we have left the morning free. In the afternoon you’ll be picked up by your English-speaking guide and taken on a city tour of the capital Praia and to the bustling Sukopira market.

Day 3
In the morning you’ll be picked up by the same guide who’ll take you on a 3hr walk from Calabaceira to Cape Verde’s oldest settlement – Cidade Velha, nowadays a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll be walking through a canyon passing palm trees and sugar cane fields and may visit a grogue distillery (seasonal).
After the walk and lunch (included) there will be time to visit Cidade Velha. You’ll then be taken to Rui Vaz where you stay for the next two nights.

Day 4
It’s an early start today as you’ll be walking to the highest peak on the island – Pico d’Antonia (1392m). Depending on your walking experience your guide will take you up the most suitable route.
You’ll need to be a confident walker as there will be some scrambling and loose rock. The walk can take up to six hours. Lunch is included.

Day 5
You will be taken back to the airport and fly to Fogo, where on arrival you will be met by your driver and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the lovely little town of Sao Filipe.

Day 6
Meet your guide after breakfast and drive up to Cha das Caldeiras where you will be doing some walking in the crater. Lunch and dinner are included today, and you will be staying overnight in the crater.
There is no light pollution when you’re staying in the crater, so make sure you go outside before you go to bed to do some stargazing.

Day 7
You’ll need to get up at dawn this morning. From the casa, it’s only a short walk to the start of the climb, but it’s a challenging trek to the top of Pico do Fogo (altogether 4 to 6hrs) and we recommend you bring your own walking poles and gaiters for the scree running (more like fine volcanic ash) on the descent.
Also make sure you pack a hat, gloves and a windproof jacket, as it can be cold in the morning when you first set off. Lunch is included.

Day 8
Today you’ll fly via Santiago to the island of Sao Vicente. You’ll be spending two nights in Mindelo, a place popular for its music and culture. Your hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, where in the evenings, local musicians may perform live.

Day 9
In the morning you’ll be picked up by your guide for the walk to Sao Vicente’s highest peak Monte Verde (744m). There won’t be much shade on this walk, so please make sure you bring a hat, sun cream and plenty of water and snacks with you.
After the walk (around 4hrs) you’ll be transferred back to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10
You’ll be picked up by your driver after a very early breakfast and taken to the ferry port for your crossing to the island of Santo Antao. On arrival, another guide will meet you and you’ll be taken to the start of your walk – Cova Crater.
From here you descend into the beautiful Paul Valley (4 to 5 hrs). The cobbled path can be very steep at times, so do bring your poles as it can be hard on your knees. At the end of the walk, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in another valley, where you’ll stay for 3 nights. Lunch is included.

Day 11
Another morning and a different valley. This time you’ll be transferred to the Cha das Pedras valley and after an ascend to the ridge – you can see it winding down. It’s all the way down again to your hotel. Lunch is included.

Day 12
Your guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to yet another valley, but this time you’ll follow the dramatic Atlantic Coast from Cruzinha to the small fishing town of Ponta do Sol. There are a few steep sections along this route, especially at the end when you get to the pretty mountain village of Fontainhas, high above a deep Ribeira.
At the end of the walk (4 to 6 hrs), you can spend some time in Ponta do Sol, before you get transferred back to your hotel. Lunch is included.

Day 13
It’s going to be a long day, as you’ll be transferred to the western part of the island. The last bit on the road to the start of the walk is off-road and can be a bit bumpy.
You’ll be in for a real treat, especially when it’s a clear day, as you’ll be able to see some of the other islands and the walk will have more of an alpine feel to it, that the previous walks you have done. Glowing hills, with some high cliffs and no real paths up to the top of Tope de Coroa (1979m).
At the end of the walk, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Porto Novo where you’ll stay for one night. Lunch is included.

Day 14
Catch the ferry back to Sao Vicente in the morning. You’ll be met by your driver and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Day 15
After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time for your transfer to the airport. Fly home via Lisbon.
Guided walking
Walking is a great way to explore the islands, especially accompanied with one of our expert local guides. They'll provide delicious picnics and tell you all about the flora, fauna and culture of Cape Verde. Walks vary from 2-6 hours some along cobbled paths linking villages, others follow the rugged coast and the most challenging route climbs Fogo volcano - topping out at 2,829m. Our guided walks are always in small groups and are often private - so you can chat with your guide and vary the day according to your needs.

Take a tour of São Vicente through the empty beaches of Calhau, the Saharan sand dunes, the music festival capital at Baia das Gatas and the island's highest peak, Monteverde.
If you visiting Santo Antão, then it's great fun riding in the the back of a pick up truck visiting Tarrafal along it's rocky roads.
Diving
Here in Cape Verde, the diving's good all year round. It's warm waters are rich in marine life, making Cape Verde perfect for your diving holiday. Dives can be arranged from most of the islands and courses are also offered - refresher, discover, open water and advanced. We'd suggest heading for Sao Vicente, Santiago or Sal for your Cape Verde diving holiday.
Turtle watching
With the third largest population of nesting loggerhead turtles, Cape Verde is perfect for turtle watching holidays. Most nest on the islands of Boavista and Sal between the months of July and October, and August is the main month for observations.
On both Boavista and Sal there are several small turtle conservation projects. You can pay a donation to visit their hatcheries and take a night patrol on the beach with a ranger.
Windsurfing
Cape Verde is windsurf heaven, regularly hosting world class competitions including the world championships. With beaches with water only 1-2m deep, no currents and great swell, it's an ideal spot for windsurfers of all abilities.
Horse riding
Our guided rides on Sal follow white sand beaches, through aquamarine water and cross salt pans giving yet another perspective on the island. All rides vary in length and difficulty depending on ability and helmets are provided.
Quinta da Montanha
Quinta da Montanha is not an upmarket hotel, but its location – sitting right on the edge of a ridge – is ideal for walkers.
An excellent base for walks in the surrounding mountains, this Quinta has a total of twenty eight simple but comfortable en-suite rooms, in the main house and newer rooms can be found in the annex. Some of the rooms come with a balcony.
You will always take your evening meal in the hotel as due to its remote setting, you won’t be near other restaurants. Meals are simple and often buffet-style.
There are a few walks that you can do from the hotel, and as these are not signposted we recommend using local guides. Also, don’t forget to bring some warm clothing as the nights at altitude and in the mountains can be chilly.
Residencial Savana
The Residencial Savana on the island of Fogo is a lovely converted traditional Sobrado house with views of neighbouring Brava island.
Especially during the Bandeira de São Filipe (the flag festival), the hotel is in a prime location, because the well-known horse race starts right in front of the hotel.
The 16 rooms that are built around a courtyard and a small swimming pool all come A/C and television, whilst the slightly larger two suites at the front of the hotel have balconies and are the perfect spot to view the sunsets.
Other than a small breakfast room, the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, but Pipi’s next door serves a fusion of Cape Verdean and Senegalese dishes.
Casa Marisa
There won’t be a place more magical than the Casa Marisa II in Cha das Caldeiras on the Cape Verdean island of Fogo.
Overlooked by Pico de Fogo, which erupted and completely destroyed the original building, it rose again from the ashes like a phoenix.
The owners Mustafa and Marisa were brave enough to re-built their hotel on the hot lava, which meant that wherever you walk on the grounds of the hotel, you can still feel the heat under your feet.
Nearly 6 years after the eruption the hotel is thriving again and other than the simple en-suite rooms, there are also funky Funkus, rondavel-like stone huts with a wooden open roof and seating area. There is WiFi in the dining room, but you have to pay to access it.
After a meal in the restaurant where they prepare some wholesome tasty meals prepared with local produce, it’s time to do some serious star-gazing.
Santantao Art Resort
The upmarket Santantao Art Resort in Porto Novo on the island of Santo Antao is the perfect base for a walking holiday if you want to explore the west of the island.
With Sao Vicente only a short ferry ride away, the hotel has an inviting large swimming pool with spacious and comfortable en-suite rooms and modern amenities. Some of the rooms have balconies that overlook the pool, others will have an ocean or mountain view.
There are two restaurants that serve a combination of Cape Verdean and international dishes.
Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande
The Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande is in a great position.
Set in the bustling main square of Mindelo just a few hundred metres from the seafront and within five minutes’ walk of a great choice of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Laginha, the town beach, is a short, ten-minute stroll to the east.
This modern hotel has two swimming pools including a children’s pool along with 24-hour reception, gym, evening entertainment, laundry, room service, WiFi (extra charge) and currency exchange.
There are 48 rooms and 2 Suites (some of which are interconnecting), all with air conditioning, satellite TV, hairdryer, phone, minibar and room safe. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the main square or the swimming pool.
There are lots of restaurants in Mindelo to choose from but the closest is the Pérola do Atlântico Restaurant next to the hotel terrace which serves local cuisine and sophisticated Portuguese and international dishes. Light meals and drinks are provided on the Syrius terrace (summer only).
If you enjoy music, then you’ll love the Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande Lobby Bar on a terrace overlooking the square. If you enjoy dancing, then guests have free access to the Syrius disco within the hotel building and open Wednesdays to Sundays.
Pedracin Village
Pedracin Village is the perfect base for walkers or those looking for some relaxation by the pretty outdoor pool.
Located in a remote elevated position 10km from Ribeira Grande on Santo Antao island, it’s only one hour’s drive from the ferry.
It’s full of traditional character and style made up of chalet buildings of stone and thatch and it feels like a mountain retreat being surrounded by stunning jagged ridges and lovely walks.
Pedracin has 32 rooms in stone chalets scattered on different levels across the landscaped hotel grounds, each joined by cobbled paths. They are simply furnished and have private bathrooms although hot water can be intermittent. This isn’t usually too much of an inconvenience given the warm daytime temperatures. Rooms can sleep up to three guests (2 adults) and have air conditioning and heating.
There is a good restaurant at Pedracin serving all meals and dramatic views.
Hotel Oasis Atlantico Praiamar
Set on a cliff top overlooking the ocean, the Hotel Oasis Atlantico Praiamar sits on The headland of Praia, the Capital of Cape Verde.
The Hotel is really well located, with views over the Atlantic Ocean and set on a rugged rocky coastline, where sound of the waves crashing over the rocks accompanies a refreshing sea breeze. For those who like to explore on foot, a short walk will take you to two nearby rocky beaches.
There are 123 rooms in this beautiful low rise complex and lots of rooming options available, including suits, rooms with a garden or sea view and adjoining rooms for families or groups of friends. All rooms have air conditioning, king size beds, satellite TV, safe, minibar and hairdryer.
Eating out at the hotel’s restaurant, you can choose from Cape Verdean, Portuguese or International cuisine. You can also eat at the Pool Bar, which has a good variety of options. In the evening, you can enjoy a cocktail at the Panorama Bar, on the terrace, which has wonderful sea views.

Our advice is to start planning around nine months prior your visit, as this helps us offer the best value airfares and secure your hotels of choice.
Can I book a last-minute holiday to Cape Verde?
Absolutely; although when booking last-minute of course it helps if you have a bit of flexibility with accommodation so we can find you suitable space. Flights tend to be more expensive last-minute too.
Where is Cape Verde?
The Cape Verde archipelago is a group of 10 islands located 570km off the Senegal coast of west Africa.
When is the best time to visit Cape Verde?
Weather is good at anytime of year and always warm. The main differences are the windy period (October to June) and the rainy season (August to September). Most people tend to go November to April.
How do I get to Cape Verde?
There are several direct flights from the UK a week to Cape Verde taking just under 6 hours as well direct flights from Lisbon, Amsterdam and Boston.
Do I need a visa to visit Cape Verde?
Tourist visas are no longer required for UK and EU citizens. Check your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your planned return date. If you are travelling with us we will arrange your airport security tax pre-payment. You will just need to fill out an international travel form to enter or travel through Cape Verde. It is recommended that you take a copy of your travel insurance policy for consultation in case of an emergency.
What languages are spoken on Cape Verde?
English is spoken by our guides and most hoteliers but it would be worth having a few Portuguese or French phrases to hand, especially in cafes and restaurants. Portuguese is the official language of Cape Verde but everyone speaks ‘Criolu’ (creole) – a mix of Portuguese and particular African words and dialects. French is commonly understood too.
Is it safe to drive on Cape Verde?
Most people prefer not to drive – though in our view, Santiago and Santo Antao offer interesting options for self driving if you’d like a road touring adventure. Most other islands are too small to warrant exploration by car.
Do I need an international driver’s license for Cape Verde?
All you require is a valid UK driving licence.
Do I need travel insurance to visit Cape Verde?
We highly recommend that you have the right type of travel insurance that will cover your medical expenses, baggage loss, accidents and personal liability and repatriation.
Can I get WiFi on Cape Verde?
In the larger hotels, WiFi is available but not in the smaller hotels.
Can I use my mobile phone on Cape Verde?
There’s good mobile reception right across the islands though it can be expensive as you are outside of Europe. However you’ll need a local SIM card.
If you’re on a dual-SIM mobile that accepts e-SIMs then you might consider an app like airalo that makes it easy to buy a Cape Verde e-SIM.
What is the food like on Cape Verde?
Traditional Cape Verdean dishes consist of fish and chicken with rice, beans and vegetables including cabbage, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkin etc. If you have any food allergies, just let us know. Beer, wine and local spirits are widely available including the locally produced ‘grogue’, a sugar cane liquor often drunk with honey (Ponche). Red and white wines are also produced on the islands.
Are credit & debit cards accepted in Cape Verde?
Most large hotels accept credit cards but for all small transactions elsewhere you’ll need to pay in cash. In most towns and airports there are ATMs where you can draw CVE cash.
What type of plug adapter do I need in Cape Verde?
You will need a type F and type C adaptor.
Is tap water safe to drink in Cape Verde?
No, you should drink bottled water – consider taking a water filter bottle to fill from the tap to save on using lots of plastic bottles.
Do I need to tip in Cape Verde?
Tipping is not compulsory but if you feel your guide or driver has done a good job then they’ll always be happy to receive a tip.

In the morning you’ll be picked up by your guide for the walk to Sao Vicente’s highest peak Monte Verde (744m). There won’t be much shade on this walk, so please make sure you bring a hat, sun cream and plenty of water and snacks with you.
After the walk (around 4hrs) you’ll be transferred back to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10
You’ll be picked up by your driver after a very early breakfast and taken to the ferry port for your crossing to the island of Santo Antao. On arrival, another guide will meet you and you’ll be taken to the start of your walk – Cova Crater.
From here you descend into the beautiful Paul Valley (4 to 5 hrs). The cobbled path can be very steep at times, so do bring your poles as it can be hard on your knees. At the end of the walk, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in another valley, where you’ll stay for 3 nights. Lunch is included.

Day 11
Another morning and a different valley. This time you’ll be transferred to the Cha das Pedras valley and after an ascend to the ridge – you can see it winding down. It’s all the way down again to your hotel. Lunch is included.

Day 12
Your guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to yet another valley, but this time you’ll follow the dramatic Atlantic Coast from Cruzinha to the small fishing town of Ponta do Sol. There are a few steep sections along this route, especially at the end when you get to the pretty mountain village of Fontainhas, high above a deep Ribeira.
At the end of the walk (4 to 6 hrs), you can spend some time in Ponta do Sol, before you get transferred back to your hotel. Lunch is included.

Day 13
It’s going to be a long day, as you’ll be transferred to the western part of the island. The last bit on the road to the start of the walk is off-road and can be a bit bumpy.
You’ll be in for a real treat, especially when it’s a clear day, as you’ll be able to see some of the other islands and the walk will have more of an alpine feel to it, that the previous walks you have done. Glowing hills, with some high cliffs and no real paths up to the top of Tope de Coroa (1979m).
At the end of the walk, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Porto Novo where you’ll stay for one night. Lunch is included.

Day 14
Catch the ferry back to Sao Vicente in the morning. You’ll be met by your driver and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time for your transfer to the airport. Fly home via Lisbon.

Walks vary from 2-6 hours some along cobbled paths linking villages, others follow the rugged coast and the most challenging route climbs Fogo volcano - topping out at 2,829m. Diving
Here in Cape Verde, the diving's good all year round. It's warm waters are rich in marine life, making Cape Verde perfect for your diving holiday. Dives can be arranged from most of the islands and courses are also offered - refresher, discover, open water and advanced. We'd suggest heading for Sao Vicente, Santiago or Sal for your Cape Verde diving holiday.
Turtle watching
With the third largest population of nesting loggerhead turtles, Cape Verde is perfect for turtle watching holidays. Most nest on the islands of Boavista and Sal between the months of July and October, and August is the main month for observations.
On both Boavista and Sal there are several small turtle conservation projects. You can pay a donation to visit their hatcheries and take a night patrol on the beach with a ranger.
Windsurfing
Cape Verde is windsurf heaven, regularly hosting world class competitions including the world championships. With beaches with water only 1-2m deep, no currents and great swell, it's an ideal spot for windsurfers of all abilities.
Horse riding
Our guided rides on Sal follow white sand beaches, through aquamarine water and cross salt pans giving yet another perspective on the island. All rides vary in length and difficulty depending on ability and helmets are provided.
Quinta da Montanha
Quinta da Montanha is not an upmarket hotel, but its location – sitting right on the edge of a ridge – is ideal for walkers.
An excellent base for walks in the surrounding mountains, this Quinta has a total of twenty eight simple but comfortable en-suite rooms, in the main house and newer rooms can be found in the annex. Some of the rooms come with a balcony.
You will always take your evening meal in the hotel as due to its remote setting, you won’t be near other restaurants. Meals are simple and often buffet-style.
There are a few walks that you can do from the hotel, and as these are not signposted we recommend using local guides. Also, don’t forget to bring some warm clothing as the nights at altitude and in the mountains can be chilly.
Residencial Savana
The Residencial Savana on the island of Fogo is a lovely converted traditional Sobrado house with views of neighbouring Brava island.
Especially during the Bandeira de São Filipe (the flag festival), the hotel is in a prime location, because the well-known horse race starts right in front of the hotel.
The 16 rooms that are built around a courtyard and a small swimming pool all come A/C and television, whilst the slightly larger two suites at the front of the hotel have balconies and are the perfect spot to view the sunsets.
Other than a small breakfast room, the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, but Pipi’s next door serves a fusion of Cape Verdean and Senegalese dishes.
Casa Marisa
There won’t be a place more magical than the Casa Marisa II in Cha das Caldeiras on the Cape Verdean island of Fogo.
Overlooked by Pico de Fogo, which erupted and completely destroyed the original building, it rose again from the ashes like a phoenix.
The owners Mustafa and Marisa were brave enough to re-built their hotel on the hot lava, which meant that wherever you walk on the grounds of the hotel, you can still feel the heat under your feet.
Nearly 6 years after the eruption the hotel is thriving again and other than the simple en-suite rooms, there are also funky Funkus, rondavel-like stone huts with a wooden open roof and seating area. There is WiFi in the dining room, but you have to pay to access it.
After a meal in the restaurant where they prepare some wholesome tasty meals prepared with local produce, it’s time to do some serious star-gazing.
Santantao Art Resort
The upmarket Santantao Art Resort in Porto Novo on the island of Santo Antao is the perfect base for a walking holiday if you want to explore the west of the island.
With Sao Vicente only a short ferry ride away, the hotel has an inviting large swimming pool with spacious and comfortable en-suite rooms and modern amenities. Some of the rooms have balconies that overlook the pool, others will have an ocean or mountain view.
There are two restaurants that serve a combination of Cape Verdean and international dishes.
Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande
The Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande is in a great position.
Set in the bustling main square of Mindelo just a few hundred metres from the seafront and within five minutes’ walk of a great choice of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Laginha, the town beach, is a short, ten-minute stroll to the east.
This modern hotel has two swimming pools including a children’s pool along with 24-hour reception, gym, evening entertainment, laundry, room service, WiFi (extra charge) and currency exchange.
There are 48 rooms and 2 Suites (some of which are interconnecting), all with air conditioning, satellite TV, hairdryer, phone, minibar and room safe. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the main square or the swimming pool.
There are lots of restaurants in Mindelo to choose from but the closest is the Pérola do Atlântico Restaurant next to the hotel terrace which serves local cuisine and sophisticated Portuguese and international dishes. Light meals and drinks are provided on the Syrius terrace (summer only).
If you enjoy music, then you’ll love the Hotel Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande Lobby Bar on a terrace overlooking the square. If you enjoy dancing, then guests have free access to the Syrius disco within the hotel building and open Wednesdays to Sundays.
Pedracin Village
Pedracin Village is the perfect base for walkers or those looking for some relaxation by the pretty outdoor pool.
Located in a remote elevated position 10km from Ribeira Grande on Santo Antao island, it’s only one hour’s drive from the ferry.
It’s full of traditional character and style made up of chalet buildings of stone and thatch and it feels like a mountain retreat being surrounded by stunning jagged ridges and lovely walks.
Pedracin has 32 rooms in stone chalets scattered on different levels across the landscaped hotel grounds, each joined by cobbled paths. They are simply furnished and have private bathrooms although hot water can be intermittent. This isn’t usually too much of an inconvenience given the warm daytime temperatures. Rooms can sleep up to three guests (2 adults) and have air conditioning and heating.
There is a good restaurant at Pedracin serving all meals and dramatic views.
Hotel Oasis Atlantico Praiamar
Set on a cliff top overlooking the ocean, the Hotel Oasis Atlantico Praiamar sits on The headland of Praia, the Capital of Cape Verde.
The Hotel is really well located, with views over the Atlantic Ocean and set on a rugged rocky coastline, where sound of the waves crashing over the rocks accompanies a refreshing sea breeze. For those who like to explore on foot, a short walk will take you to two nearby rocky beaches.
There are 123 rooms in this beautiful low rise complex and lots of rooming options available, including suits, rooms with a garden or sea view and adjoining rooms for families or groups of friends. All rooms have air conditioning, king size beds, satellite TV, safe, minibar and hairdryer.

Do I need a visa to visit Cape Verde?
Tourist visas are no longer required for UK and EU citizens. Check your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your planned return date. If you are travelling with us we will arrange your airport security tax pre-payment. You will just need to fill out an international travel form to enter or travel through Cape Verde. It is recommended that you take a copy of your travel insurance policy for consultation in case of an emergency.
What languages are spoken on Cape Verde?
English is spoken by our guides and most hoteliers but it would be worth having a few Portuguese or French phrases to hand, especially in cafes and restaurants. Portuguese is the official language of Cape Verde but everyone speaks ‘Criolu’ (creole) – a mix of Portuguese and particular African words and dialects. French is commonly understood too.
Is it safe to drive on Cape Verde?
Most people prefer not to drive – though in our view, Santiago and Santo Antao offer interesting options for self driving if you’d like a road touring adventure. Most other islands are too small to warrant exploration by car.
Do I need an international driver’s license for Cape Verde?
All you require is a valid UK driving licence.

We highly recommend that you have the right type of travel insurance that will cover your medical expenses, baggage loss, accidents and personal liability and repatriation.
